Blower Monitoring

Blowers are widely used in process industries (refineries, petrochemical plants, textile industries, sewage treatment plants) for applications such as aeration, pneumatic operation of tools, drying, cooling / heating, material sorting etc. Due to its very nature, this is an energy hungry element of the process.

As the air goes through the blower, it compresses and its properties change. The blowers are monitored continuously for a period of time to get an insight of the blower operating regime and system requirements.


Blower performance is mapped under various operating regimes and specific cost determined to find out the best ways to achieve energy efficiency. A detailed technical report is then prepared with recommendations for necessary implementation.

While “Schedule optimization” is the lowest cost method and the fastest way to gain energy efficiencies, “Re-furbishment / Asset upgrade” can also help save vast amount of money.

For some processes such as sewage treatment, we also look at issues such as filters, leakage in pipe works, process requirements for air / oxygen and so on. These can also be huge areas of savings for the plant operator.
